Barmby Wants Move

Barmby is in talks with Leeds about terminating his contract. He is one of a number of high-profile names set to leave Elland Road. The 30-year-old, capped 23 times by England, has started just 17 times in the Premiership since Leeds paid £2.75million for him. He also went on a short loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season after falling out of favour with the cash-strapped club.

If he does end his troubled stay at Leeds, he is tipped to favour dropping down a division to join his hometown club Hull City, although his wages could still be a problem even if no transfer fee is involved.

Barmby can play in a number of attacking positions, and with Junior Lewis still unsigned he could become a transfer target for Peter Taylor.
