Barmby was sent off against Doncaster after referee Mr. Taylor ruled that he aimed a headbutt at Jermaine McSporran, who also saw red.

The club were hoping that video evidence would prove Barmby's innocence, but that has proved inconclusive so the matter won't be persued.

The 30-year-old now has to miss City's next three matches, so Delroy Facey is set to be recalled in his place against Huddersfield tomorrow. Barmby also misses the Stockport and Colchester games.

Meanwhile, Marc Joseph may also miss tomorrow's game after suffering a rib injury against Doncaster. Stev Angus could come into the back four, as he did when Joseph was substituted.
