Bantams No Bother

16 of Bradford's squad were on strike so their team was made up mainly of trialists and youth team players.

City, fielding more or less their first team, went ahead in the first half when Ian Ashbee stormed through to set up Stuart Elliott, who flicked the ball past the Bradford keeper with his left foot.

The lead was doubled when a corner came out to Ryan Williams just outside the box, and his shot was helped in by Gary Alexander for his first of pre-season.

Late on in the second half Elliott got his second of the night. City broke out on the counter attack, and Williams played in the Northern Irishman to finish past the approaching goalkeeper, and then do his trademark cartwheel celebration in front of the South Stand.

The makeshift Bradford team worked hard but City were always on top, and will be confident of giving Middlesbrough a good game on Friday.

City line-up (4-3-3): Glennon; Edwards, Whittle, Greaves (Anderson), Smith; Appleby, Ashbee, Williams; Dudfield, Alexander, Elliott.
Un-used subs: Musselwhite, Strong, Peat, Price, Philpott.
