Defender Jason Van Blerk will stay in the Third Division after impressing over pre-season at Shrewsbury. They have offered him a contract, and his move to Gay Meadow is set to go ahead this week.

Manager Kevin Ratcliffe said: "He's someone were looking at and we've offered him something, and it's now up to Jason to see if it's what he wants.
"He's keen to sign but we'll have to see if everything is right for both parties."

If he decides to join he will replace another ex-Tiger, Greg Rioch, who is now at Northwich along with Paul Gibson and Rob Matthews!

Meanwhile Adrian Caceres will return to Australia with Perth Glory. He has been on trial at Bournemouth recently and scored twice - including a strike against Manchester United in a friendly - but the former Southampton attacker will go back to the club where he started his professional career.

Perth Glory coach Jeff Dennis said: "He has agreed terms and we expect him to sign within the next day or so. We have no reason to believe he won't sign."

Elsewhere, Colin Larkin's transfer from Wolves to Mansfield is set to go through. He was reported to have turned his back on the move and try and fight for his place at Molineux, but has now decided to go through with it after all. The deal is worth over £125,000, and Wolves also have a sell-on clause to take a cut of the fee if the Stags ever sell the 20-year-old. City had previously offered £100,000 after the Irishman impressed manager Jan Molby while on loan at Kidderminster last season.
