Home side Sheffield United took a 13th minute lead through Emanuele Gabrieli, but Aaron Wilbraham levelled with a close-range header 3 minutes later.

Ian Ross restored the Blades' lead in the 34th minute and Colin Marrison made it 3-1 after half time.

Ryan France pulled one back before Gabrieli brought down Wilbraham to give Danny Allsopp the chance to equalise from the penalty spot. Phil Barnes kept it out, but Allsopp popped up again in the 89th minute to find the back of the net and finish it at 3-3.

Next up for the reserves is a trip to Preston on Monday 8th November, before the club's defence of the East Riding Senior Cup begins on Saturday 13th. City have been drawn to play at Easington United, where a Tigers XI achieved a 1-0 win in a pre-season friendly in July.

City line-up: Brock; Matthews, Wiseman, Hinds, Briggs; France, Fry, Beattie, Walters; Wilbraham, Allsopp.
Un-used subs: Benson, McGarry, Anderson.
