Hull City Open Day at Boothferry Park, starting 11am.

Alan Jarvis born 1943. Welsh international right-back who was an important part of the 1965/66 Championship winning side. Made over 150 starts for City in a 5-year spell.

Monday 5th
Harrogate Town v Hull City XI (friendly, kick-off 7:45pm)

Theodore Whitmore born 1972 in Jamaica. Record caps holder for Hull City. Scored 11 goals in 92 appearances between 1999 and 2002.

Wednesday 7th
Hull City go down 1-0 at Exeter on the first day of the 1999/2000 season. Mark Greaves is sent off.

Adam Lowthorpe born in Hull in 1975. Made almost 100 appearances at right-back between 1993-97. Now a coach at Hull City's School of Excellence.

Thursday 8th
Mark Hateley's Tigers lose 3-1 at Rotherham on the first day of the 1998/99 season. David D'Auria's 6th minute debut goal puts City in the lead for all of 4 minutes before the Millers equalise, and go on to put two more past Steve Wilson.

Friday 9th
Hull City lose 3-0 at QPR on the first day of the 1969/70 season.

Mark Hateley's first game as City's player-manager sets the precedent for the rest of his spell in charge, with a 2-0 defeat at Mansfield in 1997.

Saturday 10th
Hull City v Southend United (kick-off 3pm)

Blackpool beat City 2-0 at Bloomfield Road on the first day of the 1968/69 season.

Sunday 11th
City are victorious on the first day of the 2001/02 season, winning 3-1 at Exeter City courtesy of Theo Whitmore, Mark Greaves and Lawrie Dudfield goals.

Monday 12th
City lose against Millwall, Swindon and Blackpool in 1972, 1995 and 2002 respectively.

Tuesday 13th
Bristol Rovers v Hull City (kick-off 7:45pm)

City record a 1-0 victory against Norwich at Boothferry Park with Ray Houghton getting the only goal of the game.

City get off to a dreadful start in 1998, losing 4-0 at Oxford United.

Wednesday 14th
Greg Abbott and Linton Brown make the scoresheet in 1993 with an opening day win at Barnet.

George Maddison born 1902. One of the club's greatest ever goalkeepers who made almost 450 appearances between 1924-37.

Thursday 15th
Gary Alexander born 1979.

Paul Hunter's goal secures a 1-0 victory against Stoke on the first day of the 1992/93 season.

Friday 16th
Hull City v Scarborough (Juniors, kick-off 2pm)

The 1980/81 season kicks off with a 1-1 draw at Millwall. Keith Edwards nets City's goal.

Saturday 17th
Exeter City v Hull City (kick-off 3pm)

Ken Wagstaff (2) and Vince Grimes score in an exciting start to the 1974/74 season, with a 3-3 draw at Southampton.

Duane Darby takes home the matchball with all three of City's goals in a 3-2 opening day win against Darlington at Boothferry Park in 1996.

Cliff Woodhead born 1908. Made over 350 appearances for City at full-back between 1930-38.

Sunday 18th
John McSeveney bags a brace and Dave King also scores in a 3-0 win against Bristol Rovers in 1962.

Monday 19th
Carlisle hold City to a draw at Boothferry Park on the first day of the 1978/79 season. Mickey Horswill scores City's goal in a 1-1 tie.

Tuesday 20th
City start the 1977/78 season succesfully at home to Sunderland. David Roberts (2) and Bruce Bannister score in a 3-0 win. City ended the season bottom of the league.

Wednesday 21st
Hull City v Scarborough (Reserves, kick-off 7pm)

Local rivals Scunthorpe are beaten 3-2 at Boothferry Park on the first day of the 1965/66 season. Ken Wagstaff scores twice and Ken Houghton seals the win. City end the season Division Three champions.

Frank Banks born 1945. Made over 300 appearances between 1967-75.

Thursday 22nd
A home crowd of 20,000 sees City beat Middlesbrough 1-0 in 1970, with Chris Simpkin scoring.

Collinson (2), Chilton, Clarke and Morris score as City defeat Newport 5-1.

Friday 23rd
Vigo Jensen nets both goals as City win 2-0 at Everton in 1952.

Andy Flounders and Gareth Roberts score in an opening day win against West Brom in 1986.

Saturday 24th
Hull City v Bury (kick-off 3pm)

Darlington v Hull City (Juniors, kick-off 11am)

An exciting start in 1963 when John McSeveney (2) and Chris Chilton score in a 3-3 draw Watford.

Harry Ngata born 1971. New Zealand international who made 27 appearances for City between 1989-91.

Sunday 25th
36,000 see City beat West Ham 1-0 in 1952; Syd Gerrie scores.

Jimmy Greenhalgh born 1923. Missed just one game in City's 1948/49 Championship winning season. Played over 150 games in a four-year spell.

Monday 26th
Hartlepool United v Hull City (kick-off 3pm)

City thump six past Oldham with no reply from the visitors in 1948. City end the season as Division 3 North champions.

Andy Payton scores a hat-trick and Ian McParland also scores but City take home no points from a 5-4 defeat at Bournemouth.

Jeff Wealands born 1951. Accomplished goalkeeper who made over 150 appearances for City between 1971-78.

Tuesday 27th
City's 1983/84 starts well with Billy Whitehurst and Steve Massey both bagging braces in a 4-1 win over Burnley.

Cliff Britton born 1908. One of City's most succesful managers, guiding his Tigers side to the Division 3 Championship in 1966.

Wednesday 28th
Mansfield Town v Hull City (Reserves)

In 1993, Linton Brown scores one and Dean Windass gets a hat-trick as City go to Cambridge and win 4-3.

Emlyn Hughes born 1947. Made just 9 starts for City in 1983. Much better known for his Liverpool and England career, winning 62 international caps.

Thursday 29th
City lose 5-3 to Liverpool at Anfield in 1959. City end the season relegated to Division Three.

Friday 30th
1997 - Jan Molby brings his Swansea City side to Boothferry Park, and goes back to Wales on the back of a 7-4 defeat. Duane Darby scored a hat-trick for the Tigers, while Gregor Rioch, Neil Mann (2) and Glyn Hodges complete the scoring.

Saturday 31st
Hull City v Leyton Orient (kick-off 3pm)

Ryan Williams born 1978.

City's first ever game at Boothferry Park ends in a stalemate, with Leyton Orient the visitors for a 0-0 draw in 1946.

City start the 1929/30 season with a 1-0 win against Swansea (Ken McDonald scoring), but end it 2nd from bottom and relegated to Division Three.
