Two infamous 'tiger skin' designs were used in the early 1990's, which have since been prominent in a number of 'worst ever football kit' articles.

The club then had two more traditional kits, before another unpopular experimentation in 1998/99 as then owner David Lloyd introduced a kit with cross-fading amber and white stripes. This was scrapped a year later, going back to black and amber stripes following Lloyd's sale of the club.
