Phone: (01482) 342396

Beer: The usual suspects and an excellent selection of guest ales

Food: Quality for the price

Smoking: Outside seating to the front

Home colours: Allowed

Away colours: Only if you like a bit of banter

Minors: Outside, and inside if Steve's in a good mood

TV: Yes, in both bars

Walking time to ground: 30-45 mins

The owner Steve is a good guy and likes having banter with anyone and everyone that enters if it's not busy, so don't have any bad pool shots.

The pub is split into two sections: the old man front section and the student back section. The front has that narrow boat feel of old pubs, wood floors, heavy wood furniture and plenty of ales. The back section has 7 pool tables, a jukebox and carpets. It caters for every taste and as such the regulars are an eclectic mix.

Both sides show the live sports and the bar staff will happily change to whatever match people want to watch.

The drinks selection is very good. The ales are available at the front bar but can be ordered from the back as well.

Food prices are low and the quality, service and portions are excellent. The 'ultimate burger' will feed a family of ten for a month. There is a variety of 2-for-1 deals and drink+food specials.

There is a car park to the rear and a bus stop directly outside and it's pretty much a straight walk to the stadium.

A very friendly pub, if it was closer to the ground I'm sure it would be packed out every match day. As it is there usually a small crowd of City fans outside come rain or shine.
