Shaw was appointed Chief Scout on 25th May 2007 as Phil Brown continued to reorganise his backroom staff.
He was previously Chief Scout at Sunderland until Roy Keane chose to bring in new faces.
He also served as Chief Scout while Brown was manager of Derby County.
Other clubs Shaw has worked for in 30 years as a scout include Bolton Wanderers and Notts County.
