City Make Signing

The midfielder signs until the end of the season. The deal is allowed to go through even though the transfer window is shut as the player was unattached when it closed.

He was released by Bolton Wanderers in the summer after five years at the club, making 177 appearances in all competitions and scoring 28 goals.

Born in Athens, he played twice for Greece in this year's European Championship, and was a winner four years ago. He has a total of 77 caps and 13 international goals to his name.

Now 34 years old, Giannakopoulos will give Phil Brown more options in the absence of the injured Craig Fagan.
